Welcome, bookworms!

Wow. It’s almost as if I have been dreaming of putting together a book blog for years. I have been a reader for years. I was that kid that walked around with a “comfort” book wherever I went. My parents took us out to dinner, I had a book. We visited family 10 minutes away, I had a book. Sat through my sister’s sporting event, obviously I had a book. But let me back track a little.

A Little About Me-

Hi! My name is Kendall. If you’re reading this maybe we are already friends in real life or on bookstagram. Or maybe you are a complete stranger to me (let’s change that!). Either way, welcome. Like I said, my name is Kendall. I am 29 years old & I live just outside of Washington D.C. During the day I work as a nanny to 2 pretty cool boys and I assist a wedding planner behind the scenes, all while I try to grow my own photography business by shooting weddings on the weekends. I also have 2 dogs that keep me pretty busy and make the best reading buddies.

Needless to say, I live a pretty busy life. Books have been and will continue to be one of my happy places! And that’s why I have started this page. The end goal is to share longer reviews than I tend to on instagram. To slow down the content I am pumping out and focus on making it not only for you guys as readers, but for myself to look back on almost like a journal. Writing has never been my strong suite, so please bear with me as I learn to navigate this new to me format of sharing my thoughts and opinions.

What to expect-

Alright! Now that you know a little about me & how I plan to work this page, let me explain what you can ultimately expect to find here.

I have been reading a ton of fantasy books lately, so that will be a big chunk of what I will share here. The fantasy genre has become my happy place! I joined a book club back in 2022 (shoutout to Reagan & all of the other book club ladies) and I like to think that we do a pretty good job of trying to read diversely. So those books will also be shared here. Hopefully they encourage you to step outside of your reading bubble now and then & try new authors and genres! I love using Storygraph to track my current reads, so I can’t wait to share my stats each month and year. Other than that, we are talking book reviews, reading updates, reading goals, and hopefully some bookstagrammers that I can spotlight as well! The end goal is to put out a monthly newsletter with new posts, upcoming releases, spotlights and more.

Okay! I know that sounds like a lot but I have high hopes for this blog & I cannot wait for you to join me in this journey. But for now, help me out. What are you reading? What books would you like to see featured here? Drop a comment below or send a message via the contact page.

Let’s get reading!
